How can engineering teams collaborate seamlessly across organizations, disciplines, and IT systems? In this new episode of our AI Podcast Series, we explore CASCaRA and its vision of creating a common digital language for engineering—enabling interoperability, traceability, and a true digital thread across the product lifecycle.
Tune in to learn how CASCaRA is helping to break down data silos and shape the future of digital collaboration.
After three years of intensive work, the Collaborative Digital Twins (CDT) project at prostep ivip Association has officially come to an end — and with it, a major breakthrough:
• Effort for engineering data exchange & coordination reduced from weeks to seconds.
• Improved data quality and increased security based on proven dataspace technology.
• Synchronous Collaboration by connecting data not exchanging documents.
• A shared semantic foundation for interoperability.
• A federated, dataspace‑ready architecture suitable for any heterogeneous IT- and partner-landscapes.
• Successfully validated in a multi‑partner end‑to‑end demonstrator for requirements exchange.
To wrap up CDT, we proudly present our video summarizing how collaborative digital twins enable controlled, cross-company data collaboration in real time.
How do you archive data that has to outlive the aircraft it describes?
Aircraft lifecycles can span up to 80 years — from initial design to the end of life of the last unit delivered. That means product data must remain readable and reusable decades from now, regardless of how IT environments evolve in the meantime.
This is exactly what the prostep ivip project LOTAR (Long Term Archiving and Retrieval) addresses. Developed jointly by the aerospace associations AIA and ASD, together with PDES, Inc. and prostep ivip, LOTAR creates standards for the long-term archiving and retrieval of digital product and technical information — from CAD and PDM data to composites, wire harnesses, MBSE artifacts, and CAE simulation data.
The multi-part standard defines both the content to be archived and the processes for recording, storing, managing, and accessing it — published as part of the EN/NAS-9300 series.
Tune in to discover how LOTAR keeps critical engineering data accessible — for the next 80 years and beyond.
Data spaces are transforming how industries collaborate, share data, and build digital ecosystems — yet many questions remain about GAIA-X, Manufacturing-X, Catena-X, and Aerospace-X. In our new short video, prostep ivip Association brings clarity to the evolving data space landscape: What are data spaces and how do they actually work? How do initiatives like GAIA-X, Manufacturing-X, Catena-X, and Aerospace-X fit together? Why is sovereign data exchange critical for engineering collaboration? Featuring Ulrich Ahle, CEO of Gaia-X and former member of the prostep ivip Board, the video combines expert insights with a clear visual overview and highlights where prostep ivip fits in — and why we are the right partner to shape engineering use cases in data spaces. Watch the video and discover how you can contribute your engineering use cases to future data space initiatives.
Can we really trust simulation results? In this podcast, we explore why simulation credibility is becoming a key success factor in modern product development.
Discover how structured credibility assessment helps engineers and decision-makers build confidence in virtual validation — and why this matters more than ever.
