The project group Collaborative Digital Twins is the home for and bundles the relevant discussions within prostep ivip about Digital Twins from methodological, technical and legal perspectives. The CDT project group brings together expertise in engineering, IT architectures and collaboration methods from industrial users, service providers, academia and implementers.
For the collaborative usage of digital twins, we derived requirements, formulated concrete use cases from participating companies, and drove the development of necessary technologies in a common demonstrator through the DT Implementors Laboratory. This specifically includes the discussion and alignment on collaboration methods, necessary change processes (brownfield), standards, and interfaces.
In this webinar we will show how state-of-the-art IT architecture concepts can be applied to enable companies to seamlessly collaborate based on digital twins. We demonstrate our results based on the implementation of cross-company requirements data exchange between three partners using different requirements engineering tools. The project was officially closed with the publication of a recommendation at the end of 2025. The project results lay the foundation for the follow-up project "Live Collaboration in Engineering" (LCE).
The webinar will cover the following topics:
- Closure of the project group CDT
- IT Architectures for Collaborative Digital Twins
- Demonstrator of the CDT Implementors Lab
Speaker:
Dr. Sebastian Schweigert-Recksiek, :em engineering methods AG
Team Lead for Digital Twin Architectures and coordinator of the CDT project group since its inception.
