SmartSE: Traceable simulation results in a heterogeneous environment

26 November 2021, 2 pm - 4 pm (CET)

Web Seminar open for all

The SmartSE project will be entering an exciting Phase V next year. Preliminary work from evaluating FMI for neutral simulation model exchange, through establishing reference processes for exchanging these models, to Building Blocks for Simulation-Based Decision Making and simulation standards for V-ECUs, SmartSE has always addressed current issues for collaborative system development between partners. This will continue to be the case. In this Web Seminar, we would like to give you an overview of the current activities of the prostep SmartSE project, as well as those planned for Phase V.

Core topic is: Enabling collaborative development and validation of complex products by simulation along a multi-tier supply chain, with topics like

  • Processes for collaborative simulation-based engineering
  • Simulation quality and traceability
  • Dealing with abstraction and modeling
  • Systems engineering and agile methods
  • Extension of the V-model to more stages of the life cycle

This will be demonstrated by means of several showcases on how these topics are already being prototypically implemented on the basis of existing or currently in-development standards:

  • Exchange and reuse of models of different abstraction levels in several simulation tools using parameter optimization as an example.
  • Support of traceability along a simulation task from the request to the evaluation in heterogeneous simulation environments
  • Joint processing of a simulation task by several partners with different tool environments
  • Metadata analysis of models and simulation tasks based on the STMD "Glue Particle" standard

The following points will be discussed in more detail during the web seminar:

  • Overview SmartSE Phase V
  • Showcases
    • Usage of SSP and FMI for parameter optimization
    • Tool support for simulation task traceability from requirements to simulation result
    • Exchange of simulation tasks between partners in heterogeneous environments based on GlueParticles
    • Workbench “ConcertHall” for thermal simulation of ECUs using GlueParticles
  • Conclusion
  • Discussion
