2012 - 2018
Together with participants from almost 30 companies and research institutes, prostep ivip's Smart Systems Engineering (SmartSE) project group develops application-related concepts for mastering the common challenges posed by systems engineering (SE). To this end, SmartSE draws up recommendations for process design, expedites technical standards for the collaborative development of complex mechatronic systems and supports the internal and cross-enterprise creation of transparency with regard to systems engineering objects.
The second, revised version of the recommendation PSI 11 "Smart Systems Engineering" is available free of charge at www.prostep.org/en/medialibrary/publications
In the current phase IV, SmartSE builds on previous results but also explores new subject areas arising from the trend towards model-based systems engineering in new work packages. Key topics addressed by the work packages are: simulation-based decision-making, further development of the FMI standard and its industrialization, industrial requirements for the System Structure and Parameterization of Components for Virtual System Design (SSP) standard, modeling and simulation standards for V-ECUs and new requirements from the perspective of autonomous systems.
Building on the results from 2019, SmartSE will begin work on a third, revised version of the recommendation PSI 11 "Smart Systems Engineering".
In the run-up to this, increased focus will be placed on dissemination of the project results. There are plans for several, possibly revised, white papers and recommendations on, for example, V-ECUs, SSP and simulation-based decision-making. It is also intended that development of the FMI (3.0) be driven forward. When it comes to mastering the challenges posed by autonomous systems, requirements for the industrialization of scenario-based testing will be defined and made available to relevant projects and organizations (e.g.: ASAM).
Building on the results of the previous years, the SmartSE project group published a second, revised version of Recommendation PSI 11 "Smart Systems Engineering".
In 2018, the "Challenges of Interdisciplinary Collaboration" work package was outsourced and pursued further by the SysML Workflow Forum working group. The work packages "Behavior Models and Data Management Integration" and "IP Protection in Collaborative Behavior Modeling" were successfully completed by the end of 2018. This brings phase III of the SmartSE project to an end.
