The JT Workflow Forum is a joint project group set up by the prostep ivip Association and the VDA with the aim of establishing Jupiter Tessellation (JT) as a process format in industry. The main objective of the project is to specify current and future requirements relating to the application of JT and, in cooperation with the JT Implementor Forum, to validate (JT IF) IT solutions as well as specify and prioritize user cases.
In 2021, the key topics addressed were again the industrialization of JT-based use cases in collaborative scenarios involving manufacturers and suppliers. Due consideration was given to aspects such as multi-CAD collaboration, kinematics based JT and STEP AP242 XML, semantic PMI and validation properties. The use case involving the use of JT in MBSE will not be pursued further and will instead be passed to the SysML WF.
In addition, work on JT content harmonization continued and the updated DIN SPEC 91383:2021 standard and recommendations based on JT version 10.5 were published.
Representatives from the JT WF presented the results at the 2021 symposium and at STEP AP242 Day. A JT webinar was also offered.
Work on the key topics being addressed by the JT WF will continue in 2022. It is also intended that the exchange of information and experience on the technologies and their use in practice be stepped up.
Project work on the key topics previously mentioned will not only be conducted at the meetings held by the JT WF but also in subgroups, which work efficiently and in a target-oriented manner on providing results relating to the above-mentioned use cases.
Another JT benchmark is planned for 2022 and standardization of JT by the ISO on the basis of the 3rd edition will also be pursued.
In addition, a JT Day at AUDI in Ingolstadt is planned for 29 September 2022.
