The JT Workflow Forum is a joint project group set up by the prostep ivip Association and the VDA with the aim of establishing Jupiter Tessellation (JT) as a process format in industry. The main objective of the project is to specify current and future requirements relating to the application of JT and, in cooperation with the JT Implementor Forum, to validate them at participating companies, as well as document the processes in use cases and prioritize them.
The goals and key topics in 2019 were the industrialization of use cases based on JT in collaborative scenarios involving manufacturers and suppliers in the context of multi-CAD collaboration, semantic PMI, kinematics based on JT and AP242 XML, and the use of JT in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to further enhance JT as an end-to-end process format.
Having enjoyed great success in recent years, this year's JT Day for users and vendors was held for the fifth time on 5 November 2019 at the Mercedes-Benz Center of Excellence in Sindelfingen. A total of 150 participants and 10 exhibitors were welcomed by the JT WF’s organization team . Mercedes-Benz and Audi presented keynotes on the strategy, use and benefits of JT, while Audi, Bosch, Fraunhofer and Mercedes-Benz presented applications and practical examples.
In 2020, work will continue in greater depth on the key topics addressed in 2019. Project work in this context is not only conducted at the meetings of the JT WF but also in subgroups, which work efficiently and in a target-oriented manner on providing results relating to the above-mentioned use cases.
Work on JT content harmonization will continue and standardization will be driven forward (including assigning attributes, data quality check seal, level of detail, PMI, external links). A white paper entitled "JT in MBSE" has already been prepared and is to be published in 2020.
Representatives of the JT WF will again give a presentation at the symposium.
