The Cross-Discipline Lifecycle Collaboration Forum (CDLC Forum) was set up in 2017 with the aim of improving cross-domain collaboration in engineering environments throughout the entire system lifecycle. Increasing system complexity and higher levels of dependency throughout the system lifecycle require interdisciplinary methods, processes and tool solutions. CDLC makes use of linked data technologies.
In 2018, intensive work was done on the use cases "Engineering Collaboration" (improved cross-domain communication in engineering) and "Manage Trace Information" (cross-discipline traceability of change requests). The processes and roles were described in more detail. Work on turning the use cases into demonstrators was launched together with the system manufacturers. The Mars Rover model is being used as an example.
In addition, the project results to date were presented at numerous events, including the prostep ivip Symposium in Munich, the Graz Symposium Virtual Vehicle, the PDT Europe in Stuttgart and the OSLCfest in Stockholm
Focus in 2019 will continue to be placed on practical implementation of the work results. The three use cases "Engineering Collaboration", "Manage Trace Information" and "Functional Safety" ( in advanced driver assistance systems according to ISO 26262) [L1] will continue to provide the basis for this. Pilot demonstrators for the first two use cases are to be completed using the Mars Rover model and prepared for presentation. When it comes to functional safety, it is intended that the precise contents of the use case be defined and a consensus on their very different interests be reached with the companies involved.
It is also planned that the results be published as a white paper and a prostep ivip recommendation.
