SDVxMBSE

In this video module, Carina Fresemann of TU Berlin and Jens Lachenmaier of the Ferdinand Steinbeis Institute present an approach to combining software development for software-defined vehicles (SDVs) with model-based systems engineering (MBSE). SDVs are characterized by decoupled software and hardware components that support continuous upgrades and new or upgraded software functionalities. Software engineering is based on open environments, open software stacks, and continuous upgrades targeting development speed in a "fail fast, learn fast" culture. In contrast, MBSE has been introduced as a cross-disciplinary approach with a "first time right" culture and the goal of creating well-documented systems. At first glance, these two approaches do not seem compatible, yet they must be applied for the successful development of future cars.

This webinar will detail how to integrate the strengths of both approaches to enable reliable, innovative cars that support quick development. We will explain how to loosely couple the two worlds and use standards and widespread tool environments for this purpose. We will explain the step-by-step process of establishing the connection between the two worlds in an easy-to-understand manner. Prostep's own digital playground allows you to access and reproduce the process yourself
