Change in Association Management effective 1 June 2017

Management of the prostep ivip Association goes from Dr. Steven Vettermann to Dr. Alain Pfouga 

Darmstadt, June 2017 – After 6 successful years Dr. Steven Vettermann passes management of the office of the prostep ivip e.V. in June 2017 to Dr. Alain Pfouga. 

Dr. Steven Vettermann has managed the activities of the prostep ivip Association since 2010. During this time he played a prominent part in the introduction of the Code of PLM Openness. In April 2016 the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) became patron of the interoperability initiative by prostep ivip. Previously, as Technical Program Manager he had been responsible since 2004 for creating and establishing new technical projects in the association and supporting ongoing projects with the delivery of results. 

Under the management of Dr. Steven Vettermann the Association grew steadily. Two ISO standards (JT, STEP AP 242), OMG ReqIF, almost a dozen recommendations and numerous other publications were released during this period. The technical program with 22 projects almost doubled in size over the last years. More and more important became also the strong expansion of sustainable co-operations with other international organizations, trade Associations, and standard committees.

Dr. Alain Pfouga (born in 1975) studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University Darmstadt and received his doctoral degree there from the Department of Computer Integrated Design (DiK). Since 2006 Dr. Pfouga has worked on the optimization of engineering business processes in various positions at PROSTEP AG. As manager in the area of strategy and processes he was most recently responsible for a range of services ensuring the consistency of engineering product data in PLM and the development of digital master strategies. In 2015 he already took over the coordination of JT projects in the prostep ivip Association.
