The Standardization Strategy Board (SSB) is a project of the prostep ivip association initiated by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). The SSB project group was founded in 2017 with the vision of enabling future collaborative systems engineering (CSE) based on engineering IT standards. For this purpose, the IT standards relevant in the field of systems engineering will be analyzed, prioritized and their maturity evaluated for the first time in the prostep ivip association, in order to derive joint strategies and recommendations for action for their application and implementation. The aim is to achieve universal coverage of the business objects and interfaces required in the CSE process on the basis of these engineering IT standards, thus creating the basis for a cross-company digital twin.

The following points will be discussed in more detail during the web seminar:

• Motivation and necessity for the establishment of engineering IT standards
• Vision & Mission - The digital twin based on standards
• Relevant domains and cooperation with other initiatives
• Standards in Systems Engineering and recommendations of the SSB
• Outlook on future topics and extension of the scope

Dr. Sebastian Handschuh, Mercedes-Benz AG. Project Manager SSB. Since 2010 he has been leading and working in various standardization and digitization initiatives of the prostep ivip association as well as the VDA AK DPE (former AK PLM) and has been leading the SSB for the last 3 years.

Dr. Marcus Krastel, :em engineering methods AG, Board Member PLM Services. He is active in numerous working groups as well as in the TSC in prostep ivip and supervises the SSB as project coordinator.
