The term data analytics has not only become a household name in the development of new data-based solutions and business models since the vigorously accelerated developments in Industry 4.0. The aim is to utilize the potential of modern data analysis technology without great initial effort.

In the detailed analysis of the numerous activities in the field of data analytics, the data acquisition and processing stand out as an entry hurdle and, at the same time, expense driver in projects. The aim of the DPDA project group is to reduce this effort and to support the phase of understanding and processing the data. So far, a reference model and a role model have been developed on the basis of industrial use cases in order to structure the data preparation process. Furthermore, the project group is currently working in cooperation with industrial partners on the analysis of further use cases in order to further specify and improve these models.

The following points will be discussed in more detail during the web seminar:

  • Introduction to the procedure for data mining, data science (CRISP-DM)
  • What is data preparation? Why is data preparation important?
  • Process model and role model of the DPDA group
  • Current status of the use cases and further procedure of the project group
