The prostep ivip Association proudly presents the 9th JT DAY – for the first time as an online event! Join the cross-industry meeting of the JT community on 22 October 2025.
Time: 10:00 am - 01:00 pm CET
Under this motto, top-class international speakers will share practical insights into the standard format for multidisciplinary 3D digital collaboration. Discover how JT drives digital transformation and its pivotal role in tomorrow's industry.
JT DAY Express is organized by the JT Workflow Forum – a joint initiative of the prostep ivip Association and VDA. The forum advances JT as an industry-standard process format, defining requirements for practical application in close cooperation with the JT Implementor Forum.

Welcome note (Thomas OTT, Aumovio): Along the entire digital product creation process, the standardized JT data format plays a central role for many companies in the automotive, transport and supplier industries.
When introducing and optimizing systems engineering, the use of JT offers considerable advantages for digitalization…
Lecture 1: Standardization of Semantic PMI (Honda): Senko-san will explain the verification for Semantic PMI. It includes the confirmation of the potential of Semantic PMI and implementation in utilization tools. Especial the use case “Measurement – Delivery and Inspection process between companies will be explained.
Lecture 2: Automated validation process for JT with PMI (Mercedes-Benz):
Reliability of data is crucial to (downstream) processes that use and rely on converted 3D data in a neutral format like JT. Reliability in this context means first and foremost the completeness and correctness of the data provided. With the increasing digitalization of processes, the reliability of PMI (product manufacturing information) has become an important criterion alongside the reliability of the geometry itself.
In this presentation Mercedes will provide an insight into the new process of automated validation of PMI, which is embedded in the JT-based data exchange process of partners and suppliers with Mercedes as an OEM.
Lecture 3: Leveraging the power of 3D in the Digital Thread using JT “External Element References” (:em)
3D visualization is the key to understanding products intuitively and to communicating effectively and collaborating efficiently. But mechanical design is not an island discipline: its task is rather to implement requirements from requirements management and functions from systems engineering.
Beyond using PMI for geometric product specification (dimensioning & tolerancing), the technical product documentation also includes a bunch of information where PMI are simply inappropriate.
This presentation will explain and demonstrate how the “Digital Data Package” provides a semantic representation for geometry-related technical information, such as multiple materials, mechanical features, painting & coating, marking & labeling, heat treatment, joining technology, bending specification, etc. and aligns it to the Digital Thread and 3D visualization using the brand new JT “External Element References”.
Lecture 4: Supplier Data Package - STEP with JT and Native CAD (Gulfstream)
Dan will present their new 3DMBD standards-based data package for build to model suppliers.
After 20 years of providing native CAD to 3DMBD suppliers, can we move the supply base.
The new data package enables high functioning low cost 3D viewing and ERP process integration while allowing the suppliers to maintain their current native CAD processes for complex detail parts. No CATProducts, AP242 for native CAD assemblies. The solution also prepares the suppliers for a day when we will have a multi-CAD design environment and not provide native CAD.
VENDOR PITCHES
Unfortunately, we have to cancel the vendor pitches this year due to the online event. We look forward to exchanging ideas again next year, with stimulating discussions and many presentations of new applications from our vendors.
