Conformity assessment bodies such as laboratories as well as inspection and certification authorities who are seeking accreditation must be accredited as a product certification body pursuant ISO/IEC 17065 and meet the requirements set out in this certification program. Once accreditation is possible under this program by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS), it will then be necessary to accredit the certification body. As set out in ISO/IEC 17011, DAkkS certifies that the conformity assessment body has the expertise necessary to carry out tasks related to conformity assessments.
