prostep ivip is based in Darmstadt, Germany. It was founded in 1993 on the behest of 38 well-known industrial and IT companies, originally as part of the German STEP initiative. With more than 190 members from 20 countries, prostep ivip maintains and constantly expands a network of like-minded organizations which include ISO, OMG, DIN, AIA, ASD-STA, and OASIS. The network also includes associations such as AutomationML, GALIA, GfSE, GPM, JAMA, Modelica, PDES, VDA, and VDMA.
prostep ivip Association is focused on the digital transformation in product development and production. As a driving force behind digital transformation in the manufacturing industry, prostep ivip focuses and coordinates the requirements of manufacturers and suppliers. The goal is to define standards and interfaces, especially for the digitization of the entire product creation process – from the idea through to implementation.
Founded in November 2015, this consortium lets us underscore the significance of research for the field of industry. prostep ivip members enjoy special benefits, including a reduced fee.
Openness initiative and certification program for the prostep ivip association, sponsored by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
For this project, nearly 30 different companies are working to define standards with a high level of practical application for cooperative systems engineering.
prostep ivip provides a huge variety of standards, recommendations, white papers, benchmarks, use cases, guidelines and much more to its members free of charge.
For non-members a limited number of documents are available with costs.
Our international conferences are information platforms, well-accepted by industry, IT, and research.
