Issue Log

During the past years, due to the intensive cooperation at the CAx Implementor Forum and the annual Benchmarks, STEP processors have been developed to a degree where they can be reliably used in everyday's CAD data exchange business. Regrettably it is still possible, that bugs or errors occur in the implementation of a STEP processor. In order to enable the user to efficiently handle his daily data exchange work nevertheless, this section to offers to all members the possibility to inform themselves about known issues, resp. to access them online. The issues divide into:

CAD Issue Log
CAx-IF
PDM-IF

The structure of the CAD Issue Log initially shows the CAD systems with known issues on the right hand side. If the user is interested in certain issues with his CAD system, he directly chooses it here. The issue view mostly assumes that the CAD system which is chosen in the list is the one in which the issue causes problems during data exchange. I.e., when converting data from system A to system B, the STEP file is syntactically OK, but system B aborts on import nevertheless, then the issue is documented with system B. If such issues are known, they are listed starting with the latest one at the top. If a detailed description is necessary for a certain issue, a workaround document in PDF format is provided, which can be retrieved from the download area.
The two Issue Logs of the Implementor Forums are currently still being prepared.

It is of course possible, that you as a user come across an error which is yet unknown. We would therefore encourage you to either contact the STEP Forum, thus can be determined if other participants of the STEP Forum have similar problems as well, or, if you are a member of the ProSTEP iViP Association, you may directly contact the STEP Hotline to communicate your problem. In both cases you will be assisted.
