General information CAD
This compilation of know-how is designed to provide users with fast and reliable support and to make STEP data exchange easy for everyone. The Best Practices are not only interest for STEP beginners but are also available as a reference book for data exchange experts.
Here you can obtain information here about optimized configurations, settings, procedures and hints for the most commonly used CAD system combinations. The Best Practices are bulid up as follows: first you choose your system combination. After that you can make any necessary adjustments for every step: from your sending system via STEP up to the receiving system.
All inputs are the result of both extensive testing in production by major European automotive and related companies and of the latest Benchmark´s or other test activities and implementation projects at the ProSTEP Competence Center. Further on you can access to the latest known issues in the CAD Issue Log.
Our aim is to offer up-to-date information and therefore the Best Practices are subject not only for a continuous process of content change but also for the expansion of CAD system combinatons. The more people communicate about STEP data exchange, the more they know. Therefore you are invited to share your personal experiences during your STEP data exchange with all members of the ProSTEP Association, simply by sending any comments, helpful suggestions or new hints to the STEP Forum.
