Secure Product Creation Processes (SP˛)
Term
2007 - 2009
Mission
The objective of the project group is to draw up recommendations for implementing secure data exchange processes in cross-enterprise product development. An increasing level of collaboration between OEMs and suppliers, and to an ever-greater extent also between different OEMs, requires a high level of harmonization between users and vendors to avoid competing approaches and the resulting friction losses.
Enterprise rights management (ERM) and identity management
Focus is being placed on enterprise rights management (ERM), which allows data utilization to be controlled. Only people who have explicit authorization are permitted to read, modify or save data. The challenge here is to create and establish an open approach that avoids the creation of stand-alone solutions and can be implemented throughout industry.
Identity management is also vital in this context. Only if solutions for identity management can be found, can ERM be implemented in cross-enterprise product development.
