What is actually needed are fast and simple integration solutions which
consolidate existing solutions |
do not require detailed understanding of the processes or knowledge of the data models in an application |
enable cooperation between different domains |
The objective of SOA4PLM® is to create solutions based on service-oriented architectures (SOA).

Users, middleware vendors and system vendors place very different demands on SOA4PLM®:
Users want to concentrate on their business processes, even if these cross corporate borders or the borders defining responsibilities. |
Middleware vendors want to quickly concentrate on the technical challenges posed by integration projects using a solid service basis. |
System vendors want to be integrated more deeply and comprehensively in the user’s business processes. |
The results of the initial phase conducted in 2007 have been published in the ProSTEP iViP White Paper SOA4PLM®.
SOA4PLM® is seen as an approach of strategic importance for the ProSTEP iViP Association. The Association has therefore registered this name as a trademark.
The objective of the current project is to establish a project consortium and draw up a project plan. It is intended that the project be defined in more concrete terms in a number of workshops to be held in 2008. Above all, user requirements must be collected and specified in more detail.
