PDM Implementor Forum (PDM-IF)
Term
since 2001
Mission
The objective of the PDM IF is to promote and accelerate the harmonized development of ISO 10303 (STEP) and STEP-based interfaces for PDM/PLM systems (such as, for example, OMG PLM Services. A comprehensive test environment for STEP Part 21 as well as a reference implementation for OMG PLM Services 2.0 are provided for this purpose.
The merger with the ECM IF at the end of 2007 means that the focus of the PDM IF has been extended. The wealth of experience gathered continues to be incorporated in the PDM world and thus promotes in-depth integration of Engineering Change Management (ECM).
Users and software developers from the various system vendors work together to ensure that the available solutions satisfy the requirements of cross-enterprise collaboration.
We have compiled detailed information on OMG PLM Services, available implementations and documentation here.OMG PLM Services reference implementation and implementation guidelines
Work is currently focused on ensuring the availability of the reference implementation for OMG PLM Services 2.0, as well as on the maintenance and further development of the ProSTEP iViP documents listed below, which support the application and implementation of OMG PLM Services 2.0 and the ECM recommendations VDA 4965 and PSI 3-2.
Work is performed in close cooperation with the Maintenance and ECM Internationalization Project Groups.
