Process Chain Car Electric / AP 212
Mission
The objective of the Process Chain Car Electric / AP212 working group is the improvement of the car electric development processes and their integration in complete-car processes. To this end, the working group draws up recommendations and agreements for the uniform application of standards, in particular STEP AP212, and propagates their implementation within member companies. Using the wiring harness as the basis, the entire vehicle electrical system is examined, including descriptions of the logical view of the electrical system and component descriptions.
Milestones 2004
KBL Schema Version 2.2 was published |
The results achieved so far by the working group were published as the VDA recommendation 4964 “Harness Description List“ |
Expansion to include geometry, the logical view of the vehicle electrical system and wiring harness components has begun. User requirements were analyzed and documented. |
Outlook 2005
Incorporation of the know-how gained from KBL implementation and new requirements. Publication of KBL Version 2.3 and incorporation in the VDA recommendation |
Support for the dissemination and implementation of the VDA KBL recommendation |
Creation of a data model for the wiring harness geometry in order to describe designed spaces, the wiring harness and wiring paths |
Creation of a data model for the logical view of the vehicle electrical system in order to describe functions and logical connections so that system circuit diagrams and service plans can be extracted |
Creation of a data model for wiring harness components in order to describe standard part catalogs for connectors, pins, grommets, etc. |
Setting up of an EES working group in order to build a bridge between electronics and software development |
