Electrological Model (ELOG)

Summary

The VDA ELOG model defines a data model and an XML schema for exchanging electrological information:

  • Schematic diagrams (optional)
    • Connectivity between components (pin to pin, terminal designations)
    • Inline connectors (if relevant for the harness architecture)
    • Basic component positioning and connection routing (optional)
    • Component and pin configuration
    • Terminal specification (variant dependent)
    • Connector, slot, cavity information (variant dependent)
    • Wiring specification, wiring configuration
  • Sheets and layout (optional)
    • Distribution of electrological information over individual sheets
    • Basic layout information for cross-tool reconstruction of sheet layout (diagrams)
