Mission

The PDM User Group is a user forum in which experiences gained from implementation projects in the field of PDM data exchange are discussed and recommendations are drawn up.

JT Enabled Processes

In 2008 the subject „PDM Data Exchange based on non-native CAD“ was on the agenda. A questionnaire was distributed and a CAx process analysis was conducted. Focus of both operations was placed on the format JT, because it is at this time the most widespread format and receives the most interest from industry. These activities were conducted in close cooperation with the VDA (German Automobile Association).

Under the title „JT Enabled Processes“ measures for the definition of workflows, for securing interoperability, and for the quality control of available processors were defined and will be implemented in the project groups JT Workflow Forum and JT Benchmark.

The data exchange with ENOVIA V6 / CATIA V6 will be another focus of the PDM User Group in 2009.
