Over the past few years, considerable investments have been made in developing standards, developing products based on these standards and using these products in industrial processes. The maintenance work performed by the Association makes an active contribution to protecting these investments. The focus of the activities performed by the Association is placed on the STEP standards ISO 10303 AP 212 and AP 214, and OMG PLM Services.
In addition, it has provided active support for the standardization efforts with regard to the JT Specification. This shows that the group clearly follows its mission enhance standards addressing user requirements in short time.
Therefore, the ProSTEP iViP Association is active in the appropriate national and interna-tional standards bodies (DIN NAM, ISO TC184/SC4, OMG ManTIS).
The international automotive industry also contributes to the maintenance of the standards in focus, and financial support is provided by VDA, JAMA (Japan) and GALIA (France).
Active support for publication of JT Specifications as an ISO Publicly Available Specification (in 2009: ISO PAS 14306) and standardisation.
After the publication of PLM Services 2.0 by the OMG no additional versions are planned at this time. The tasks concentrate on compiling and evaluating the issues that occur as a result of using the standard.
