Mission

With the publication of the JT Specification as Publicly Available Specification within ISO as ISO/NP PAS 14306 the fundament was created for using JT as the binding process format within industry. A whole set of JT-translators is available on the market. 2009 in the 1st ProSTEP iViP / VDA JT Translator Benchmark first statements could be made on the quality and applicability of the interfaces. In the 2nd Benchmark again a neutral and comprehensive evaluation of the commercially available JT-Translators will be conducted. Exemplarily, with regard to the application of JT in downstream processes JT-Translators for CAD-Systems will be benchmarked. The main focus is put on data quality, functionality, performance and handling.

Benchmarking – A proven ProSTEP iViP method

Test criteria and test cases will be derived from the conformance- and quality criteria defined by the JT Workflow Forum. On the basis of these criteria and the provided test models the processors of the participating system vendors are tested. The test results will be published at the end of 2010.

Testing Software:

Translators of CT CoreTechnologie, T-Systems, Theorem, Siemens PLM for the CAD-Systems of Dassault Systèmes, PTC, and Siemens PLM will be benchmarked. 

Concomitantly the check-tools of CT CoreTechnologie, Siemens PLM, Transcat PLM will be applied.
