Mission

The CAx IF is a joint working group supported by both PDES, Inc. and the ProSTEP iViP Association. The objective of the CAx IF is to advance and accelerate the application reliability of geometric data exchange via ISO STEP 10303. This includes both ensuring a continual increase in the level of quality offered and making new functionality needed by the users available. In addition to the work performed within the framework of the forum, the CAx IF also documents recommendations for implementation in the form of Recommended Practices.

Focus on Long-Term Archiving and Auxiliary Geometry

Focus is currently being placed on

Transfer of auxiliary geometries as e.g. coordinate axes, as well as user-defined model attributes
Advanced transfer of form- and position tolerances, et al. for assembly groups.
Updating of implementation guidelines with regard to the new versions of ISO 10303 (STEP) AP203 2nd Edition and AP214 3rd Edition.

Work is performed in close cooperation with the LOTAR project group and Maintenance.
