Mission
Development of PLM Services 1.0 within the ProSTEP iViP Association was brought to a successful close in July 2005. In the mean time, PLM Services 1.0 is now available as an international OMG (Object Management Group) standard.
The PLM Services project is now involved in specifying the next version, OMG PLM Services 2.0, which will include important enhancements. The standard will provide complete support for the engineering change request (ECR) requirements defined in the Engineering Change Management (ECM) project. Version 2.0 will also be harmonized in full with STEP AP214 (3rd edition). Attention will continue to be given to improving performance and applicability. IT security requirements will be taken into consideration from the start.
Milestones
- Specification of PLM Services 2.0
- Creation of a Usage Guide for the standard
- Creation of a reference implementation
- International standardization of the specification via the OMG (tbd)
