On September 20, 2007, 28 participants from 16 different companies respond to our call and joined the “OMG PLM Services Information Days” in Darmstadt.
Aim of this information day was to introduce the OMG PLM Services 2.0 and to give the participating users and vendors an impression about the capabilities of the standard and possibilities of its usage in practice.

The final discussion shows, that all participants felt well informed and the day’s aim was reached. The OMG PLM Services 2.0 specification is nearly a standard, first products exist, and even the “bigger” vendors are starting to provide interfaces resp. connectors. The next big challenge is push the user acceptance and to broaden the application of the standard. The participants agree in general, that with the OMG PLM Services 2.0 a solid basis exists, but for realizing “easy to use” services on business level could fasten this process.
